Buying a Home in Friuli-Venezia Giulia: Land of Vineyards

Friuli-Venezia Giulia is one of the cheapest regions in northern Italy when it comes to property prices, yet it provides every benefit of beautiful, historic Italy to home purchasers.
Bordered by Austria and Slovenia, Friuli Venezia Giulia offers something for every taste. When it comes to leisure activities, you’ll be spoilt for choice: in the winter, skiing and snowboarding is popular, as well as climbing and hiking in spring. The mountains of the Dolomites, the Prealps and the Carnic Alps create this grandiose scenery, and provide countless opportunities for recreational activities. There are also peculiar and unique beaches, both rocky and sandy, depending on the location (e.g. Grado, Lignano Sabbiadoro, marano, etc.), and the warm Adriatic Sea is always popular. Water sports are common in a number of resorts, giving you the chance to try your hand at water skiing, windsurfing and sailing, and kids will enjoy visiting the local water parks. You’ll find hosts of charming villages dotted around the region, as well as the popular spa towns that have attracted visitors for decades (e.g. thermal resorts of marine di Grado, Arta and Lignano).
Since the global property crisis began in 2007, property prices have dropped by 30% or even 40% here – and since 2014 these prices have remained stable, making this a great area of potential for property buyers.
